We are here. Watch out Yellowstone!!

Got a late start today, but decided to do Yellowstone from the West Entrance to Grant Village. Beautiful weather and to much traffic.

Our first major encounter was the Fire Hole area.

A short 2 mile drive off the main highway brought us to Fire Hole Canyon and some very pretty falls and landscape. 

We just kind of stopped at all the pull outs and took a look. This is Fountain Flat Drive and this pot overflows right into the river.

Next up the road is Fountain paint pot. A nice variety of things to see.

On to Midway Geyser Basin. There is all this hot water running into the river.

It's alive. A close up of the living organisms in this hot water.

If it wasn't for the boardwalks you would be very limited as to what you could see.

Finally we arrive at Old Faithful. Kitty is looking at Old Faithful out the window of the Old Faithful lodge. What a grand old building. The fireplace is behind the big windows.

Of course we had to stay for the show, which takes place almost on the hour. We were actually sitting on the veranda of the Old Faithful Inn. 

Another grand building is the Old Faithful Inn. The architecture and construction are ornate and just logs. Hard to believe the handy work in this building inside and out.

Close to the end of another day.  Headed back to West Yellowstone to have dinner at Bullwinkles. Ah! good ribs.
