We have now moved to Fishing Bridge RV Park, near the Northwest end of Yellowstone Lake. Our plan is to use this as a base for the next 7 days while we tour the Park.

Our first visit was to Lake Village and Lake Yellowstone Hotel just down the road from Fishing Bridge. A grand old building that is quite unique inside.
Kitty found her spot near the windows looking out over the lake.
And since this is September 19 and just happens to be Kitty's birthday we ate a great lunch in the dining room.
After that great lunch we drove down a little further to Bridge Bay and decided to take a nice walk to Natural Bridge. Well it's not like really big, only 20 ft across the top, but we did need to walk. Then it was back to the Trailer to relax and get ready for another day.
September 20
Today we are driving up to Canyon Village area home of Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls. Above is Upper Falls.
And of course the Lower Falls, 308 ft. Actually this takes a fair amount of time to see, because there are multiple viewing spots on both the South and North rim.
Below the Lower falls is the grand canyon of Yellowstone. It is really an interesting site. There are so many colors in the rock and so many different types of formations.
Next to visit is the Norris geyser basin. The activity you see in this picture extends all the way behind where I shot this picture. It is a huge area of activity with to many trails for us to walk.
We decided to walk out to see Steamboat geyser. It is not much to look at today but has a past of really letting off steam, up to 300 feet high. The last time it let off a big gusher is May 2005. But it could, according to the sign let go in from 4 days to 50 years. Needless to say we didn't wait.

On the way home we took a side road that brought us to Virginia Cascade. There are a number of these one way drives in the Park.
